Racism and racial prejudice have been plagues which have hindered the growth of human society
 and the human spirit for thousands of years. The ways people have acted and reacted to these

 mistreatment of aboriginals in various countries, European colonialism in the late nineteenth and

The plague of racism which has been a part of our culture for hundreds of years is still rampant
 in today's society, it has just taken on a different form. Instead of political policies condoning
 racism, racial prejudices are now imbedded into individuals through stereotypes and images in
 popular culture. This change in ideology is depicted in such events as apartheid in South Africa,
 black integration in the United States, and native relations in Canada
