Certain aspects of the storyline are not irrelevant, but rather confusing, from the vernacular vocabulary (which although sets the atmosphere, is hard to associate with modern language), to the subtle hatred crimes committed. Similar books more suited to this task may be ________’s A Time to Kill, or _________’s The Power of One. While taking on a more modern perspective of prejudice, these books are more in touch with the minds of students.
