ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish police said on Monday they drove stone-throwing transvestites away from a minister's home after the gang tried to rob his son late on Saturday. Turkey's larger cities have active transvestite scenes, in which men visit bars filled with young cross-dressers -- many of them in various stages of sex-change therapy -- and hire them for sex. Confrontations between police and transvestites in Istanbul and Ankara are not uncommon, particularly as summer nears and nightlife spills over onto the streets.
