Abstract This paper describes deficiencies in regard to the proper evacuation of aircraft. Since the late 60’s the airliners have been evacuating aircraft in the same manner they are today. The old technology of evacuating aircraft needs to be updated in the areas of evacuation slides, over-wing exits, and passenger education.
