…showed last 75 words of 382 total…possible cause for this particular gender role. Then, I remembered seeing a special on television about how dating habits have changed in the last fifty years. One of the earlier methods was courting. Basically, the man had to seek out one woman and impress her until she and her parents agreed to allow marriage. I think the concept of men “taking care” of every aspect of the evening stems from the earlier practice of courtship.
