Familial Dysfunction in Literature
Families’ are never perfect and it shows in literature,
especially in Morrisson’s Song of Solomon and Tan’s The
Kitchen God’s Wife. Within each of these novels there is an
ever-present theme of familial dysfunction that is the
fulcrum of all conflicts. The illusion of a regular, run of
