Emily Dickinson
Today, Emily Dickinson is known as one of America’s greatest poets of all time. Even though she devoted most of her time to poetry, she wasn’t recognized until the twentieth century (Myers 2).

If there is one thing Emily knew for sure, it was what a good poem should do, "If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that it’s poetry" (Casey 1).
