The Greek creation story began with only chaos. Then out of the void appeared Erebus, the unknowable place where death dwells, and Night. It was a place of death and silence; it was an endless abyss of darkness. Then somehow Love was born and from it came Light and Day. Once there was Light and Day, Gaea, the earth, appeared.
