Children’s Books Evaluation The age group that I selected is first grade. I read 10 books that were suggested with the reading level for this age group. They are books that have a lot of pictures so that the children are able to associate the words with the pictures easily. I have also evaluated how well these books did in teaching the children how to read. The first book that I have chosen to read …showed first 75 words of 1032 total…

…showed last 75 words of 1032 total…what they are reading. The pictures in these books are identified by what is written on the pages. There aren’t usually more than one or two sentences on the page. The language has repetitive phrases and uses rhyming patterns that help the children predict what is being said.
