During the 1920's, most women were still expected to stay at home and look after the children. Those women who did work, found they had two jobs, employee and housewife. Many women worked to achieve independence and equality for women. Canadian women benefited from the courageous acts of several leaders who challenged the legal restrictions that limited woman's rights in this country.

…showed last 75 words of 420 total…was no longer in power. Prime Minister King appointed Cairine Wilson, a Liberal, as the first woman Senator of Canada in 1930. Although it was a great loss for Emily Murphy and her supporters, it was still a huge step for women's rights.
Times have changed for women, they are now considered a "person" , that rights and freedoms, are aloud to vote, can have a job with equal rights with men empolyees. Women are equal now!
