To be successful an MIS must be designed and operated with some due regard to the organisational and behavioural principles as well as the technical factors. Management must be informed enough to be able to make an effective contribution to the systems design and information specialists (systems analysts, operations researcher etc…), so they become more aware of the managerial functions and requirements and be able to develop a more efficient and effective MIS.
