Warhol would comeup with an idea for a painting and then direct one of the “factory kids” to make a silkscreen for him. At times Worhol would create an image exclusively himself but this was more common in his earrlier years aaaas a painter. There are even rumors of paintings done completely by his assistants bearing Warhol’s signature (quite possibly the only thing he did contribute).
