Yes I do feel the hiring practices are discriminatory because the workers were being hired through a hiring hall agreement with a predominately Filipino union. No it is not an acceptable practice for the cannery to rehire skilled noncannery workers just because they are predominately white. This is as racist and prejudice as if they never hired anyone except people of the white race. They should advertise and hire due to experience and not race.
