“Bill”, a voice said fearfully, “Turn on your television; a plane has crashed into The World Trade Center.”
All the students in my high school anatomy class glanced up to see who it was. Mr. Crockett, a biology teacher on his conference hour, had come into the room to tell us the news.
“What channel?” asked Mr. Dunbar, our teacher.
“43”, responded Mr. Crockett.

the events that had occurred and the continuing news reports that were being broadcasted over the TV’s. What weighed most heavily on my mind was how girls wanted exceptions made to the equality that past generations of females had fought so hard to attain. I thought about how the world as I knew it no longer existed, it was new and different. I would never look at my role as a woman the same.
