showed last 75 words of 412 total…doing something crazy, going out and walking, alone. Another example of how the author explains how cold it is, "...he spat speculatively. There was a sharp, explosive crackle that startled him." This quote goes on to describe that the spit would freeze midair. I think that it is very cold. London describes the plot in such detail to get the reader to really understand how cold it is, and how foolish the man is being.
