Descartes recollected the event of his senses deceiving him at one point in time, causing him to doubt what he has perceived through his senses to be true. So the relationship between the two methods reminds me of the relationship between a tapeworm and a human. The tapeworm can't exist without a human host. In relation, the method of doubt can't exist without the method of recollection.
