India thought highly on religion. It was a very big part of their culture. There were about two main popular religions. They were Buddhism and Hinduism. There were other religions but I am just going to explain those two.
Buddhism is the fourth largest religion. It was founded in Northern India by the Buddha, Siddhartha, Gaurama. Buddha was born in Lumbini at about 563 BCE. When he was about 20 years old, he went on a journey

Yak tail. They offer one thing at a time, ringing the bell constantly. The first thing they offer is innocents. They make little counter clockwise motions to the feet, heart, head and then the hole body. Before they touch anything they cleanse their hands 3 times with holy water. When they are done with the hole ceremony, they say "Ohm Shanti, Shanti, Shanti". Shanti means peace. Then after that they recite many prayers to the gods.
