…showed last 75 words of 1451 total…miscarriages, etc. The fact remains that because these mystical creatures aren't actually in the story, this book is written realistically, and must be taken seriously. Because these creatures and ideas (curses, superstitions, etc) exist, the people who have absolutely no control over their lives and futures, grasp at this to try to create a sense of control, although it is a false one.
