Theodore Roosevelt
Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858 in New York City. His father was a prosperous glassware merchant and was one of the wealthy old knickerbocker class families. Theodore was a sickly, underweight child with poor eyesight. He also suffered from severe asthma attacks. To strengthen his body, he lifted dumbbells and exercised.
