Irony is not only a theme in the account by Baldwin, but it was also reoccurring on the actual night when 2,201 people faced life or death situations and decisions. The R.M.S. Titanic was a very interesting read because of the irony used and because all readers know very well that the once thought “unsinkable” ship would face an unfortunate doom.
