These events are the murders of many innocent people, and the deterioration of the main character and his relationship with others. It is ironic that all this tragedy started out because Macbeth wanted to prove to his wife that he was a man indeed. One may say that somebody who kills helpless old kings in their sleep; hires assassins to kill their best friend; and kills an enemy’s family is the closest thing to a coward there can be.
