The difference of the personality of the two sisters brings out the irony of this play. Katherine’s transformation from the hideous shrew to the beautiful, obeying wife completely contradicts Bianca’s complete turn around from the innocent, perfect daughter to the conceited and demanding wife. Their two personalities slowly switch as the play progresses. Bianca has become Katherine and Katherine, Bianca at the conclusion of the Shakespearean comedy.
