Alan Greenspan came to the rescue when the market began to crash. Ford sales dropped 15% (seen on the December sales report) and Office Depot the closure of 70 stores. Greenspan dropped interest rates by half a percentage point, as soon after the markets picked up speed. At this point we are on the edge. If a recession occurs, even with Greenspan’s hand on the interest leaver, any rate cut maybe too little or too late.
