The Scopes Trial
Scopes Trial
Edward J. Larson, Summer for the Gods: the Scopes Trial and America’s Continuing Debate over Science and Religion (Massachusetts: First Harvard Press, 1998), was a fascinating book on one of the most important trials in American history. The book examines everything that had to deal with the Scopes Trial. It covers what lead up to the trial, during the trial, and the things that happened long after the trial.

I really enjoyed the book. This trial made America aware of the teaching of evolution and the importance that it had on American society. Before reading this book I had no clue about the Scopes trial and the teaching of evolution in schools. This book really opened up my eyes and made me think of the things that people went through to teach. Not only to teach evolution but to teach other things as well.
