Some of the policies here at Manchester Memorial High School are absolutely ridiculous. These rules and guidelines are not found fair by many of the students - myself being one of them. For instance, chewing gum. It's not allowed when infact sometimes people will chew gum to stop them from falling asleep, and sometimes people chew gum to stop the urge to eat in class. At this point, students who really have no future to begin with or just students who don't care, may just keep cutting class or just doing whatever gets them in trouble. They get suspended some more, and just end up dropping out of high school. Doesn't sound very positive, does it? And I thought we were trying to decrease the dropout rate.
