Just as the horrendous images and words of 9/11 made the western world realise it was susceptible to attack, the very fact that bio-terrorism was invisible but could be spoken of in such a frightening way, conjuring up images of a horrible death, ensured the public wanted not only justice, but to be rid of any perpetrator of such acts – to ‘hunt down and destroy’.
