It seems unlikely that, no matter what legislation a government will introduce, the majority of teachers will resort back to corporal punishment as a means of controlling their class. However, with teachers coming under more and more pressure, class sizes increasing, along with the number of ‘difficult’, and ‘challenging’ children, the issue of corporal punishment’s place in education may not be settled for sure.
