World War Two was a good war and a bad war, good because the U.S. rose from a severally crippling depression. Bad because many were killed, injured and devastated by the loss of family, many were lured into the military under false beliefs. The surge in personal income caused by the wars economic boom gave a chance for young couples to marry and set up their own households, something that the generation before WW II couldn’t do. These are some of the reasons I think that the war was a “good war”. But no war is good even though it helped America and many native and immigrant Americans become part of a economically productive society.
