P.O.W. prisoners did not have to work to get their supplies. Therefore, the P.O.W.s could utilize every waking moment to implement their economic needs and goals, thus making the economy exceeding efficient. Obviously, in the “real” world people need to work in order to get their supplies (i.e., cash or income) and can not give as much thought to how they can make the economy more efficient!
