Also, had they both not been so stubborn and headstrong, one might have given into the other, thus ending the entire situation long before it started. However, neither of these ever happened. And so, The Crucible is a sad story about a tragic hero and a selfish irresponsible teenager whose entire struggle arises from both their similarities and differences.
