Tennessee Williams gives insight into three ordinary lives in his play, “A Streetcar Named Desire” which is set in the mid-1930’s in New Orleans. It seemed as if they were both concerned for Stella’s well-being, but inwardly both were fighting for the pride of the lifestyle they maintained, or in Blanche’s case, the lifestyle she once had, and longed to have once again.
