The word Stonehenge is though to have originated from the Anglo-Saxon period - the old English word ‘henge’ means hanging or gibbet. So the word Stonehenge would mean ‘hanging stones’ However, nowadays the word henge has a specific archeological meaning: a circular enclosure surrounding settings of stones and timber uprights, or pits. If I was a teenager back when Stonehenge was built, I probably would have been doing nothing really. I might of helped the people digging the ditches. But I wouldn’t really be of no help. I might of been helping my parents with our farm our hanging out with my friends. I wouldn’t be at school as well. I wouldn’t see the Sandstones being raised, I ‘d be dead by now
