Stephen Crane was born in Newark, New Jersey on November 1, 1871. Stephen was the last of 14 children. His father a Methodist Minister died when he was nine. Stephen never cared much for school. He became well known as a social critic, journalist, and as a poet. He was original in his field of work. suffering from tuberculosis. He died on June 5, 1900 while he was in Germany he was only 29.
