“Speaking of Courage” is a short story written by Tim O’Brien. O’Brien was born in Austin, Minnesota, and graduated from Macalester College. of O’Brien’s short story the metaphoric and symbolic language describes the character or Paul Berlin in the inside. For example, “....the sky went crazy with color” (972). This is like Berlin in the inside because like the sky he is to chaotic with his internal and external conflict. If I was Paul Berlin during the war when he ordered to go in to the tunnel, like Berlin, I too would not have gone in.
