No. Not at all. Literature is somebody's accounts for what's going on in their lives at that point in time. Everything that has been written are accounts of history. José Martí speaks in speeches about Latin America coming together. Literature is a reflection of history which is why most of José Martí speeches, poems, and literature are about Modernismo which is also another form of history.
