Social anxiety disorder is the fear of the social situations that involve interaction with other people. It is the fear of being judged and evaluated by other people. People who have social anxiety disorder, also known as the social phobia, seem to be shy, quiet, nervous, or unfriendly. People that have this want to be "normal" socially. They want to be able to make friends and they want to be involved in socializing.

People can attain this disorder in many different ways. People with high rates of alcoholism and other substance abuse sometimes get this disorder. If there was family difficulties then that may relate to why someone would get this disorder. Also lack of personal relationships and difficulty in getting and keeping a job can lead to social phobia. Some people just have it, from genes or just from themselves.
