expected – and certainly not as thought-provoking or intelligent as is claimed. The acting, despite my problems with Anthony Hopkins, was a general five star standard – particularly Jodie Foster, who’s performance almost makes the film worth watching on its own. The story is imaginative, and the action is well-paced. Scenes worth particular mention include the final show-down between Starling and Buffalo Bill, and Lectors murder of the two prison wardens prior to his escape. Recommended.
