Should children be encouraged to believe in mythical characters such as Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy? The main reason that I feel this way is that you should never lie to your child. If you tell your child lying is wrong and you go and tell he or she a lie about a mythical character then you have just contradicted yourself. You have lied after telling your child that lying is wrong.
