Revenge As A Theme Of Hamlet
In the play “Hamlet,” by William Shakespeare, the main theme is that followed through plans of revenge lead to tragedy. Throughout the play, several different people want revenge on somebody. Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, wants revenge on the current King of his country, his uncle, who killed Hamlet’s father, the original King, in order to take the crown and marry the Queen. The theme is furthered to show that the people who do not go as far as they can with revenge end up fine. With all of the death that happens on the basis of one cold-blooded murder, it is clearly seen that the pursuit of revenge is a thing that can lead to horrible tragedy; shown in Hamlet by the death of everybody involved; those who are innocent as well as those who are not.
