It has been said that historically, black women have been absent from much feminist theory, both in feminist literature and black literature. Remarks
From the evidence provided it is easy to pronounce that both of these texts attempt to address social constructs and totalising ideologies that are evident in all spheres of the world. In this they have succeeded. They have empowered the “other” while marginalizing the oppressor to some degree. These are two of the many post-colonial texts written in the voice of black feminists that continue to push the envelope and make the reader think.
