Renaissance Education
As the Renaissance became an age of rival of the arts, culture, and business, so were the interests in education. It became an unwritten standard in society that upper class people, rulers, statesmen and even women be educated. What an individual should be educated in depended on their sex and status, or what influential members of society found essential for them to learn.

They thought that it was the only way to become a better society which would bring forth a better way of life. Even though this was highly stressed lower class people did not receive an education. As time passed education was criticized because much of it was not found practical or seemed out-dated. Many people wanted to learn things that would actually always be used.
