Texas boasts of the best hatcheries, with the best technology in the United States. The hatchery program has helped tremendously to give the red drum an advantage. However, red drum restocking is not just a ten or twenty year program. It takes much more commitment to ensure the future of such an important game fish. Under no circumstances should funding for such an important program be cut.
