Racism is still a problem nowadays in certain areas. I see many groups of people discriminated against, not just African Americans. I don’t know why people can have such negative views on certain ethnic groups. I agree with John Steinbeck on many of his views. When he sees the type of language being said down in Louisiana he is absolutely flabbergasted. I think he is very courageous for having such strong opinions on why

trying to teach people tolerance. One can tolerate an annoying child or a cold; you cannot tolerate races or religions. You have to accept it. I don’t think there is a way to teach racists to not be bias. One has to be taught to embrace different ethnicities from the start. The biggest cause of racism is ignorance and I think that if people were educated properly it wouldn’t be a big issue.
