Propoganda in Animal Farm
Propaganda is the use of language for the spreading of ideas or information for the amelioration of a cause. It is used as a manipulative tool that transfigures one’s thoughts into those planted by another, ultimately corrupting one’s ability to conceive thoughts and reason properly. Throughout George Orwell’s novella Animal Farm, substantial evidence is given of the types of propaganda used by the pigs, the governing body of the farm.

make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then were should we be?” (Page 69)
The failure of Animal Farm and Old Major’s ideals cannot be blamed entirely on the other animals. The pigs, through their intelligence, are able to gain control of the farm, and as soon as they do the farm turns to shambles. The pigs were thoroughly corrupted beyond return, no longer caring for their “comrades” but for themselves, making them indistinguishable from humans.
