Presidential power has evolved due to the interaction of the three branches of the US government. Our country is based on a system where no single part of the government has unlimited power. In conclusion, popular sovereignty, limited government, separation of powers, and checks and balances are the constitutional principals involved in the presidency. Our system is slow. We do not pass laws overnight because of the checks and balances. However, our government is a wonderful mechanism to insure that no person can have ultimate power over our lives.
