Physical Punishment Does Not Work
Physical punishment is something that has been argued by parents, doctors, and teachers
for years. Many parents feel that the child is theirs and they should be able to do what they
want. Some parents think that a child is a blessing and should be treated with loving
care. There are many ways to punish a child. Physical punishment does not have to be one

tolerated. The parent could then place the child in “timeout” or restrict the child from
playing outside, seeing their friends, talking on the phone, watching television,
playing video games, or any activity they enjoy doing. When the child looses their privilege
to do those things, they are likely to think twice about doing the thing that got those
privileges taken away from them in the first place.
