…showed last 75 words of 2667 total…way that modern readers are expected to grasp a mention of, for example, stripped-pine furniture. Versaille was the residence of the French king prior to the revolution of 1789. I take it that the reference connotes artificiality, pretence, showiness.
44) 397-3 febrifuge. Medicine to reduce fever - derivatively, a cooling drink.
47) 428-1 caught in a trap. I just don't believe that this could happen to someone caught in a man-trap. Just look at a picture of one of those things!
