Throughout the story, Mrs. Turpin proceeds to speak about how “good” she is compared to everyone else. Her classifications and shrewd remarks almost have her convinced that she is God-like. She labels herself as smart, successful, religious, and as having a good disposition in everything she does. Mrs. Turpin’s revelation turned out to be nothing more than the realization that all people, in the eyes of God, are equal.
