Richard Milhous Nixon was our nation’s 37th president. He was elected in 1968 and resigned on August 9th 1974 due to allegations against him. Though some may consider Nixon to be a poor president, I would definitely rate him as good president when it comes to foreign affairs. President Nixon can be considered an excellent president when it comes to dealing with foreign affairs. The president introduced a Nixon Doctrine that encouraged other nations to assume a greater share of their own defenses. In general, Nixon’s foreign policy did not succeed in the Third World. Both his and Kissinger’s indifference an geopolitical calculations resulted in policies that often failed to take into account the economic and social realities of individual nations.
