In both novels the idea of the sacred and the profane are explored, through many themes, including prostitution. Carter and Dunn have told us many things about our society, money and our views of people who are different or “special.” Fevvers would fit in prefect into the Binewski family, right next to the “Aqua Boy,” even though Arty would not like the competition he would have to share the spot light with the “Bird Woman.”
